I think my journey begins in the West. From looking at the descriptions, this most sounds like me. I look within myself to make sure I’m being the best I can be. My strengths are confidence in my beliefs and being independent. These strengths help me on my journey because I always look to be myself, and that entails keeping my morals and I think a big part of that is being independent. Yes, I think I am a partial person. I do not possess some of the other qualities of the North, East, and South. I think I lack critical qualities from the North, where I would have a great understanding of life. Wisdom is more then just book smart. This is the area I’ll be focusing on. At the beginning of my journey, my goal was to find all of them but then I realized that the point was to look for medicines that would make me a better person. I lack qualities from the North, so the medicines I looked for were Courage, Discernment, Wisdom, Strength and Insight. I knew right away where I could find courage after reading the clue… Mr. Hicks. I think courage was important for me to find because even though I am confident in what I believe, it’s hard for me to say it out loud. Next, I looked for discernment, which I found with Padre. Discernment is defined as the ability to comprehend what is obscure, which is an important part of wisdom. Obviously, my next medicine I had to find, wisdom. Wisdom was found in the library, where knowledge is obtained. I had a little trouble figuring out the person who carried strength until I went to math class right after english. Finally, I looked for insight. Insight is having the power to act on a certain situation. I think if I had more insight, I’d be able to understand why things happen, which comes along with having wisdom. So this was my hero journey. Over all I thought this activity was the best one we’ve done so far. Not only was it fun, but it had real symbolism on what I actually am looking for in my life. There’s parts of me I wish were stronger, wish I could keep hidden, and wish I could find within myself. Everyday I work on these qualities to try and make me be the person I’m meant to be.
